ABOUT

Please see our page 'the new normal' for details on changes to our facilities

Here, at Yurtas Pepita, the most important person is you, the guest! With this in mind, we offer you an extremely comfortable glamping experience, double bed, crisp clean bed linen, a wood burning stove, (with wood and firelighters!), gleaming wooden floors, solar power, an en-suite bathroom and a private seating area.

Shared areas are the swimming pool, the valley viewing area, outdoor seating under the pergola and the kitchen, equipped with a fridge/freezer, hob, sink with hot and cold water and off grid power.

Three traditional Mongolian Yurts, Grenadilla, Persimmon and Pomegranate, set in a typical Mongolian landscape, but in Spain! Nestled in the Canal de Navarres in the province of Valencia, Grenadilla can cater for up to four people, and Persimmon and Pomegranate both have a three person capacity. The yurts are completely insulated so as to keep you cool in the heat of the Summer and to keep in the heat from the wood burning stove during the Winter. We are open all year round.

Yurtas Pepita is located right on the edge of a ravine in La Canal de Navarrés, which is very, very beautiful but could pose serious dangers to children. For this reason, we have decided that we will only cater for persons over the age of 16. Also, our swimming pool is 1.5 metres deep, in itself another possible risk. We fully understand and accept that parents would do everything possible to ensure that their children are safe, but as parents and grandparents, we also know full well, that children can move at incredible speeds, and tend to explore exactly where they shouldn't. We ask that all prospective guests please understand our rationale.

We are Dave and Ann Marie, we live on site, and have a combined 50 years plus experience in hospitality, (pubs, B&B´s and restaurants).

We built the yurts ourselves, and like a phoenix from the flames, refurbished our home.

We love meeting and welcoming guests to Yurtas Pepita and would love to see you soon!

THINGS TO DO

Local Gastronomy

A number of restaurants and cafes in Chella and the neighbouring villages offer many opportunities for a gastronomical dining experience, from local pastries and strong, steaming coffee for breakfast, to light tasty lunches or splendid evening meals. Restaurants which we have tried and are happy to recommend are Bar de Mayas in Chella, excellent tapas menu, Sapatericos on the paseo is a very good steak restaurant and Florencio´s on Avinguda de la Constitucion offers traditional Valencian cuisine. Locally, El Molino (excellent Menu del Dia) and L'Ermita in Bolbaite are well worth a visit.

Market Tour

As a general rule, weekly markets in the eight villages in La Canal de Navarrés are open on alternate days from 9.00 am until 2.00 pm in the afternoon. Open air markets are always noisy, vibrant events and offer stalls carrying everything from locally produced vegetables, cheese and freshly cooked ´pollo asado´(roast chicken!), to shoes, clothing, frying pans and clocks. The market in Chella is on every Tuesday, in Bolbaite (2.5 km away), every Friday and the largest one in the area, in Enguera, every Saturday. The bigger the market, the more stalls, and nothing better than a wander around, followed by a coffee or a beer in one of the nearby cafes.

Leisure Activities

For some, a holiday means do as little as you can manage to get away with, and for others, it´s an opportunity to get involved in more of those activities you can only dream about whilst in work! Whether it´s a round of golf, horse riding, canoeing, mountain climbing, walking, cycling, dirt bike riding, swimming, people watching from a cafe terassa, or enjoying a tasty, healthy meal at your leisure, it´s all waiting for you either in, or very close to Chella.
